Cottage for sale in Varberg, Sweden

Allotment-
my second creative home-
my little cottage getaway
is
for sale.
I am moving so it has to be
done.
I am tremendously so sorry about this.
Will cry my eyeballs out
when
giving away the key to
the next fortunate
owners.
A part of my heart will
go missing.

Just wanted you to know.

update

What´s really going on??
Time fliesss.
Oh well,
here comes a little update.
I am a bit tired but
that´s part of life.

See ya.

My attempt to please some creative people at FABRIKEN.

Yes yes yes. the ones who has not seen pics from the cottage. I have been there now to prepare for winter. So all pots and plants must go into the green house before the frosty nights come along.

I am still enjoying the light inside the cottage. It is nice to experience the summery feelings even though one knows that winter is on it´s way...

My life has been a bit tangled... This hanging made by one of my art students really represents what I have been feeling lately...

And this is what I want it to end up like!

I did a little artistic approach last week with this little painting to a man (who you can see on the right hand lower corner). This is a painting for his 50th birthday. Can you see what he likes to do?

cottage update

Since I started to work I
Really
have been neglecting my cottage.
I went to see it yesterday and gee
there´s loads of work to do.
A few weeks back we (my husband
and I) painted two of the cottage´s
walls and even this is not finished...
so so what to do what to do?

Have a nice Saturday!

Inside the cottage. A bit cramped but cosy.

I painted a little bedroom mirror pink to match the style in the big room.

The flowery hanging is really just to cover up the mess in the kitchen. It is full of paints and brushes since we´ve been painting the cottage. It does the trick, though.

My collection of oil lamps.

This summer I had the opportunity to add a couple of tea cups to my blue collection.

I had to move a few plants from the backside because of the make-over so they got a new home in this big zink bason.

I just about had some time to trim my boxwood plants this summer. Just about...

Even though the nature has it´s own course in my little garden it frames other details really beautifully.

Ok, can you see that the new color WILL make a difference ;) !!
I know, we could have chosen a new cool color, like black, grey or white, to make it more modern but we like the old cottage yellow so this is the way it is going to be. See ya!!

happiness

Be creative- happiness will follow!¨

I believe each and one of us should do what
makes them truly happy.

I am a very creative person.
So I think that is one necessity in my life,
something I need in order to function.
In a way it sounds odd to say that but
in my world there´s nothing else that
really makes me happy (well- besides family
and friends of course!!)

Creativity creates an open mind to other
things, too, and in my opinion that makes us
creative people curious about life and keep
us going froward.
And guess what I do when I feel down and
depressed- I do creative things!!

What is creative in your life?
Really, think this over!!
It doesn´t have to be arts and design, interior or
other diys and crafts.
Just be curious about new things and
explore life in a new way!

Creativity in my life. This makes me happy.

Be alone with my paints and brushes and create art.

Stroll around other people´s creative work.

To see the beauty in small details.

Enjoy the opportunities that are given to me. And take in the silence.

Surround myself by color.

Create something fun with other things than just arts.

corner in the garden

I have been privileged
to own an allotment, which
I prefer to call my "little cottage getaway",
simply because that sounds more like me :),
and
these first years have been loads of
work in the garden since it has been
in a horrible condition. For instance, this
little lovely corner was filled with plants
and I mean filled, really cluttered, all over.
So what I did was to remove all those
(I dug so much which by the way resulted
an inflammation in my arm) and chose to
have grass instead to create a clean and
proper look to it.

I took this photo last week. The grass is really nice and green now (thanks to the rainy Swedish summer).

This photo is taken in early spring, just before the grass started to recover from winter and was cut for the first time.

I decided to keep some of the plants in the corner behind the big witch hazel. I am planning to make an edge lining with squared stones to define the grass from plants- well, that´s a project for the future.

Another picture I took from one of the entrances earlier this spring. You can see the "corner" in the background with its two small boxwood balls.

My children are not so keen in gardening but can hang around a little in the garden doing other things. Here my daughter had a movie time...Haha. Lovely contrast.

favorite place

I bought a really lovely coach
to my cottage but the color did not
match the rest of it so a blanket
over it did the trick. Although it is not big
I did my beauty sleep here the other day,
and yes I fit in it, if I
really squeezed in!
When I lay here I think what different kind
of projects I could do with the cottage and
at times
I get totally carried away but yet, I still have
a few smaller things I have not even bothered
to do in the big room such as curtains. Or even
what I want to hang on the walls...I simply
have not decided what to get! Oh well, I need
to lay down in my coach and dream away.
Eventually I will know what I want.

Hope you have fun projects too!

animals

...I really love guinea-pigs.
I don´t know why but I guess
one of the reasons is that I used
to have one of my own when I was
a little girl.
Guinea-pigs are so friendly and
talkative. Really, they are!!
And they greet you when you come
home- really load...well, it is because
they want food but it is so cuuute!!
Today I met a little hedgehog and
it reminded me of a guinea-pig. So all
these nice memories came up to
my mind.

portrait

A lovely flee market finding.
The portrait of a woman and a child,
in my imagination, her daughter.
I love the joy in this portrait and
the way they are connected.
I think the image makes a nice
feature in my little cottage. The colors
are a bit faded, timid but there is a
lovely light to it.
What do you think?

my little cottage getaway report

Well hi there
Just to tell you life
has been awfully busy
but now
I think that I can at least
sit down and relax
a little bit...
I have finally graded my
students´ exam papers and
I can concentrate on
living life a bit more normally
for a while.
I miss my studio and
my little cottage getaway
but soon, very soon I will be
there enjoying life to full
again.

Hope you all the best!
//Kristiina

A few pics just to update you a little from my allotment.

AND Yes! this is where I like to sit in the sun!

Some details I have been working at a while but the vegetation is taking over by itself...

my lawn is getting there!

my front is evolving with the plants in front.
I´ve been working on the texture and colors to match the house.

my cottage

I payed my little cottage´s large living room a photo moment
the other week and I realized that there
are things to organize before the summer.
For instance, have I been too enthusiastic
with all he still life
object everywhere...?
Maybe it´s too much...?
But then again, I have not hung so many
pics on the walls or I have excluded curtains
so it maybe that makes it
stylistically pure and not too cluttered.
Hmm...I need to think things over here.
